structural strategy
Described as a box within a box, the 3-storey extension to the existing concrete building was made possible structurally by
relieving the retained facades from their load bearing obligations and imposing the responsibility on a new internal steel structure.

Existing foundation insufficient to support expanded structure's weight;
Thus loads are shifted to additional internal steel structures
